Sculptform Parliament House

The Australian Institute of Architects has announced the shortlists for the 2019 Architecture Awards, with 16 projects utilising Sculptform systems being shortlisted over the two awards; we are incredibly proud to showcase the small role we played in these incredible designs.

We have chosen a few shortlisted projects from the awards to dive into and share how the architects achieved the look, all in our Price and Spec tool. Sculptform Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre

Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre Expansion

Nominated award category: Public Architecture

The expansion of the Melbourne Convention Centre uses beautiful Vic Ash Click-on Battens on the ceiling. The large scale linear textures provided by the battens across the vast angular ceiling areas give a unique and dynamic aspect to the aesthetic.

Sculptform Melbourne Jet Base

Melbourne Jet Base

Nominated award categories: Public Architecture and Commercial Architecture

Blackbutt timber Click-on Battens line wall and ceiling areas of the new Melbourne Jet Base. Intricate detailing was completed by both Cox Architecture and the Sculptform team to create the beautifully curved timber transition between wall and ceiling.

Parliament of Victoria Members Annexe

Nominated award categories: Public Architecture, Urban Design, Heritage, Interior Architecture, Sustainable Architecture and Melbourne Prize

Architects Peter Elliot Architecture and Urban Design created a comfortable, yet professional environment in the Members Annex of the Parliament of Victoria. The beautiful light tones of Vic Ash timber Click-on Battens line the vast ceiling areas throughout the complex, providing aesthetic consistency throughout the project.

Sculptform The Club Stand VRC

The Club Stand – Victoria Racing Club

Nominated award categories: Public Architecture, Interior Architecture and Melbourne Prize

Sculptform worked closely with the incredible design team behind the refurbishment of The Club Stand at Victoria Racing Club, providing an option that met both design and compliance requirements. Our real timber veneered Click-on Battens provide an authentic timber aesthetic throughout the project, which is shortlisted for the prestigious Melbourne Prize.

New South Wales Awards shortlisted projects featuring Sculptform

The shortlist for the 2019 NSW Architecture Awards was released on April 30, which we were honoured to also be a part of 8 of the 97 projects across 11 categories.

Sculptform Maitland Riverlink

Maitland Riverlink

Nominated award category: Public Architecture

Taking the award circuit by storm is the amazing Maitland Riverlink project. Already winning the Civic and Community – Completed Buildings Award at the World Architecture Festival (WAF), the project has continued to dominate Australian awards. Blackbutt timber Click-on Battens line the soffit area, with the intention of the timber greying off and matching the aesthetic of the brick.
